
Jenn
lead trainer & owner
Jenn has a bachelor's degree (University of Illinois) and master's degree (Southern Illinois University) in Animal Science with an minor in animal behavior and equine sciences. She spent two years in graduate school teaching animal behavior at Kansas State University under reknown animal behaviorist Janice Swanson. Jenn was selected for and completed a highly-competitive, two year veterinary internship at Brookfield Zoo in Chicago specializing in animal health, environmental enrichment and nutrition for exotic animals. She also worked for four years as veterinary technician while attending University. As a graduate of Extreme K9's trainer academy, she taught private lessons, group classes and trained service dogs for Extreme K9 and This Able Veteran. She also trained at K9 Companions under Ryan, a master trainer graduate from the esteemed Tom Rose School of Dog Training before setting up her own training company in the Pacific Northwest. She is a professional member of the International Association of Canine Professionals and she is very interested in furthering the general education of the public on the use of tools in dog training, dog behavioral psychology, and canine policy/law. Her further experience as a manager and health/training coordinator for a no-kill shelter (Wright Way Rescue), Ranch manager and trainer for K2 Ranch horses and as a nutritional consultant for Blue Buffalo makes her the perfect pet wellness consultant. With over 30 years of animal experience in teaching, training and the veterinary medical field she is a natural choice for dog training.



Zabrina
senior trainer
Zabrina is a senior trainer and integral memeber of the staff at Prana Canine. Growing up she participated in 4-H for 11 years, learning how to work with and train many different animals, including dogs. She ranked grand champion 3 times during her high school years in the dog training category. She attended the University of Oregon, graduating in 2016 with a B.S. in Biology. Post graduation, she took a training position in Florida working with marine mammals including dolphins, seals, and sea lions. Also while in Florida, she had the opportunity to train 17 species of parrots, reptiles, rats, and cats and teach many outreach programs with visitors. Additionally Zabrina has several years experience working as a veterinary technician. Zabrina has trained for Prana K9 since 2019 and is proud to be a board member and assistant training director for the SAFE service dog program. Zabrina has 3 dogs as part of her pack -- a Dutch shepherd, a German Shepherd and a Great Dane -- 2 cats, and a Quaker parrot. Zabrina is excellent service dog trainer and you will see her assisting with group classes, private lessons and puppy raising for our service dog program. We are honored to have Zabrina as part of our team!
Dan
lead trainer
Dan began working with Police K9s in 1990 and has over three decades of hands-on experience in canine training and deployment. In 1995, he became involved in Schutzhund sport, focusing on obedience, tracking, and protection work with his German Shepherd, Cody, who earned a Schutzhund I title. In 2005, Dan became a Police K9 handler, working with Clif, a dual-purpose patrol and narcotics detection dog. Clif was also highly proficient in tracking and later served as a tactical (SWAT) K9. Over the course of their 10-year partnership, Dan and Clif completed hundreds of hours of advanced training and competed in multiple K9 events. Throughout his career, Dan was responsible for conducting training for other K9 teams and went on to become a state-certified K9 evaluator for patrol, detection, and tracking disciplines. Following his retirement from active duty, Dan continued his commitment to working dogs as a Police K9 school instructor, teaching obedience, protection, search work, and obstacle training.



Bronte
trainer
Bronte is an intern turned trainer here at Prana Canine. She completed her B.S. in Animal Science at Washington State University and went on to complete her vet tech certification. She is very interested in using her training skills to work with shelter dogs and make them more adoptable and teaching shelter and veterinary staff to be more "behavior savvy." Bronte's pack consists of two dogs -- a Great dane and a "brown dog."
Alex
novice trainer
Alex is our training intern and brings a genuine passion for animals and a strong desire to learn the art and science of dog training. As a senior in high school she trained a rescue German shepherd named Kaya who was then adopted into a wonderful family. With a natural curiosity and a hands-on approach, Alex is eager to build skills in canine behavior, handling, and training techniques while supporting our trainers and clients. Their enthusiasm, work ethic, and commitment to animal welfare make Alex a valued part of our training team as they continue to grow in the field of dog training.
